The PACE Process

The PACE Process

Practice. Adjust. Calibrate. Extend.

How leaders and teams get measurably better at the work they already do.

Most leadership development assumes the answer is to learn more, do more, or try harder. PACE assumes something different. It assumes your organization already has the experience it needs to learn from. The question is whether you have a method that turns that experience into compounding judgment, week over week, instead of letting it dissipate.

PACE is the practice of continual, disciplined, accelerated discovery. Continual because the loop runs every week, not when something breaks. Disciplined because the cycle runs the same way each time, with a written rule, a target condition, and external signal. Accelerated because each cycle compounds on the last.

Run Your First Cycle

The Process explains the method. The First Cycle Setup Tool walks you through a single 90-minute working session that gets you ready to run your first cycle next week.

You leave the session with a rule to practice, a target condition with a date, a situation to practice in, and a person who will tell you the truth about what they experienced. You also leave with two PACE cards: a sample card showing what a complete cycle looks like, and a blank card to fill in as you go.

Send your email and I will send the printable First Cycle Setup Tool to your inbox, along with the Catalyst Growth weekly note: short, specific dispatches on what we are learning from leaders running cycles in the field.
